IB Mentorship Conference
The International Baccalaureate Mentorship Conference, also known as IBMC, is for all new IB students attending Turner Fenton Secondary School's Middle Years Programme.
The IBMC was established to introduce Grade 9 MYP students, who come from 41 diferent Grade 8 schools, to the structure of the MYP and to give them an idea of what to expect in their courses. It is designed to help the students better understand the IB Programme as well as help them to learn to organize and manage their time wisely - a skill essential for success. Almost 250 MYP students attend this conference run by a team of senior students and faculty. This experience greatly helps to bridge the gap between Grade 8 and the demands of secondary school. They meet classmates who share their apprehension and learn that they are not alone while learning more about the program on which they have embarked.
